Junior Firefighter Program

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Using requisite and relevant statutes, standards and curricula, the Riverside Bible Camp Junior Firefighter Program combines current fire service skill and knowledge applications with dynamic features and interactive technology to better support and help prepare young firefighters for the challenges being faced in the fire service today.  While focusing on firefighter training and knowledge, this new program will clearly provide an opportunity to grow spiritually in His service protecting others, the common and obvious base for the entire course.  There are innumerable passages and lessons within the Holy Bible that not only support the noble calling of service to humanity, but also promote and suggest that it good and so right to do.

The following topics may be included:

  • Review of key segments of the Holy Bible, such as John 15:13
  • Serving in the community
  • The importance of goals in life, how to set and achieve them
  • Concepts of working together with and for Him
  • A condensed history of firefighting
  • The importance of a relationship with God in life

Some key features of this program will help students take that extra step toward becoming outstanding fire fighters and leaders. They include:

  • Actual hands-on firefighter skills sessions
  • Visits from other service entities, such as LifeFlight of Maine and the Maine Forest Service
  • Advice and encouragement from veteran firefighters and fire officers
  • Fire Command Simulator Exercises
